Painting Chrome...any tips?

I want to black out the primary cover, crash bars and a few other items on my bike. Do I just sand blast them and paint them with wrinkle coat or flat black paint? Any ideas or has anyone else done this? I have a pewter street glide and think blacking out most of it would look good. Any thoughts?

Get it powdercoated. It won't cost that much and will be much more durable.

X2. There's got to be a quality powdercoater in the Phoenix area. Remove the parts, and take 'em in. There are so many colors to choose from, you'll be amazed. Just take all the parts in at the same time.There mightbe a quality control issue with the powders from onebatch to another.

And like was posted, it's much more durable than paint/clearcoat.
