No idea on replacing that. But my 1992 FLHTC is doing similar. Only it is only my turn signals that cause gauge to drop and the beat to the music on radio when it's turned up.....After checking with volt meter it does drop but not as much as the factory gauge says it is. It reads just over 10 with ignition on, meter says 12.4-12.8 and running at fast idle 13.4 so not going to pay much attention to it any more...

First, use a good VOM (Volt Ohm Meter) to eliminate you having a bad meter. You might be chasing a ghost.

There is no way a turn signal can pull the voltage down that much, if the battery s anywhere near charged. I'd expect the starter to pull the voltage down to around 10 volts but not the turn signal. A fully charged 12 volt battery at rest should be right at 12.6 volts. With the engine running, should see around 14 (between 13.8 and 14.25)

Think you may be missing a ground or a some time someone may have made some changes to the wiring harness.

Can't really see why HD installs a volt meter. An idiot light indicating that it is charging would be good. A cylinder head temperature gage or oil temp would make more sense to me.

Yeah I checked voltage at idle it's 12.4/12.8 and above idle hits 14. At the gauge I get same reading so not gonna worry with it. I did have a problem with the starter relay. After riding into town about 20 miles turned it off. Went in store came out and had no light's, gauges, nothing . Just like it had drained the battery. So I roll it off, cranks lights come on etc just like normal. Get home 30 min ride. Cut it off same thing ....nota......check battery fully charged. Zeroed in on starter relay. Go to Harley shop get one (old one was unbranded no part# etc) and wont start. So dealer looks it up by year, model. Get it and as soon as hit the starter can hear breaker trip. So plug in old one and it will start will with old one. WTF .....so maybe a bad one, go exchange . Nope. So put old one in and ride back up to the dealer. He goes thru every relay he has and same thing, so on a whim he had a relay for a shovelhead aftermarket kit that updated the starting system. And put it in and wahla it fires right up. Looked at the wiring it does not appear to have been changed....and he said he had no clue why the original wasnt working.....
