Had something weird happen today. Jumped on my '16 BO after a quick warm up and within 100 yards of leaving, I had a "No Fob" alert show up on the speedo. I stopped to check that I did have my fob, which was in my jacket pocket. This happened again after doing some running around town. Anybody know what this might be about ?
I put a new battery in the fob about 3 weeks ago. I thought it would for the whole summer. Guess I can change it again. No big deal.
Got a decent volt meter? You can find out the good battery voltage on line and check the current battery. Buddy bought some fob bats off of fleabay. They didn't last long.
While I've not had a "no fob" signal yet, my 07 EGC will turn on the security light at odd times in certain locations of travel. I suspect that there is some sort of RF interference in the frequency band that the key-fobs use. It simply goes away while riding.
A good backup plan is to make sure you know how to manually disable the security through the turn signal buttons. The info on how to set this up and use is in the owner's manual.
Started getting the same message on mine. Only happens when I first take off from the house. First thought was the fob battery, even though it got a new battery last summer. Installed fresh battery and am still getting the message. So not sure whats up now. Only does it when I first leave the house for about the first 1/4 mile.

It's the Government, man. They're spying on all of us, but only wihtin a 1/4 mile of our houses.
LOL
Seriously, I would wager it is some kind of RF thing, maybe a Cell tower nearby? Long as the FOB keeps working (and you make sure you remember your security code) I would think you should be fine.
