I know there's a place on here just for brakes but it doesn't seem to get a lot of activity so I'm asking here. Time for some new pads up front on my Road Glide. Are any brake pads better than others? Cheaper but just as good? As usual HD is really proud of theirs. Appreciate any help.
i use lyndall z-plus pads.there pricey but have zero dust, are easy on rotors and stop very well.i run wide white wall tires and it gets old cleaner the black dust off them.

I've only just now swapped my OEM sintered pads for organic ones and have thus far found the organic pads cleaner, quieter, and less grabby. This is pretty much in line with product marketing promises. I think you'd do well to do some Internet investigating into the main feature differences between these two types of pad then decide from there. As to price, if you stick with known brands you'll probably find that depending on the characteristics you want, pricing is pretty competitive. Though they may well be quite alright, I wouldn't have the ***** to go with price competitive generics. IMHO, TriGeezer nailed it in that this is not the product upon which to base purchase decisions on parsimony.
Screech guys, when I let off the throttle there is a squeak in the front tire area. It doesn't really sound like a bearing, so, I raised the wheel and with a spin there was no sound. Is this squeak typical if worn brake pads ??
