Default Help!

I'm a proud owner of my first HD...a 2012 Street Glide! I wanted to get rid of the long factory antenna so i purchased a Stubby brand antenna that is maybe 5" in length. I can't figure out how the factory antenna comes off! I've tried twisting and turning it to no avail. Does the fender have to come off to remove it somehow?? I'm lost. Also, I looked online and the only bikes that seem to have this small of an antenna that i bought are only those with a tour pack on the back (which mine does not). Did i buy the wrong antenna? Will it fit in place of the factory one and in the same location? How do i remove the factory one ? Help a new HD owner out please! Thanks.

What's the part# of the new/short antenna?

Also, your old one does "screw" off...

It does but there's a little set screw you need to loosen up first.
