I had Mendota one time. I only paid 140.00/yr for full coverage (on a 2000 FLHTCUI)! Since they do not isure motorcycles in Texas, the best rate here I could find was from Geico (380.00/yr). Everyone else was way too high.

One of the little known facts is that State Farm insures based on cc only- not model. If you have one car with them, it is tons cheaper. We moved one vehicle to them, and the Harley is around 300/yr for an '03 Screaming Eagle Deuce. Our chopper (virtually not- insurable anywhere is on;y 340/yr!

This might help,

Call 1-800-832-4449. This is a number for harley davidson insurance. You might have to be a member of hog to participate. It is not a actual insurance company. They look at numerous quotes from different insurance companys for you. When i called i got a quot of 400 and something for a year thru progressive. Progressive might give hog members a deal?

Progressive quoted me almost triple what geico did for the same coverage with only one exception. They roadside is included at no charge for all HDs. Yeah RIGHT no charge! When they charge triple what the other guy is youre paying for it.
Progressive was 1300+ per yr. Geico was 570. Geico isnt bare bones unless ya ask for bare bones.
Just to make y'all feel bad, I have Progressive. Costs me $165/year.

I am paying $600 year with uninsured motorist. I was told if I dropped it I would save $200.00. I am still undecided. I think I may since I just started my policy last week. I think I got a discount I have a couple vehicles insured w/ gieco for about 5 years now.

Dont forget to calculate the GAP coverage when you buy your bike! GAP will pay the difference from what your insurance will pay, and the amount you still owe the bank if you ever total loss the bike (and are fortunate to live )
I paid about 450 up front for that...it could save you thousands..especially if your insurance craps out on you and leaves ya hangin

The dealer wanted $410 for GAP insurance. I asked the credit union and they only want $176 So if ya finance somehwere besides through Harley ask them about GAP insurance, dont just accept what the dealer offers.
