Probably the coverage. I don't have full coverage 'cause it's a paid off 18 year old bike. I have Liability (required), Other Than Collision (Comprehensive), Custom Parts or Equipment, Towing and Labor. I was wron on the price, though; it's $137 per year.
As far as theft, the bike is covered under my homeowners policy while at the house. It's covered by .357 Smith & Wesson while on the road.
The dealer wanted $410 for GAP insurance. I asked the credit union and they only want $176 So if ya finance somehwere besides through Harley ask them about GAP insurance, dont just accept what the dealer offers.
That's a good one there!
I went with HD financing - -so I didn't shop around on that one....They did beat my overall C/U rate, so for the conveinience, I went with HD..
Either way - -make sure you get GAP on a new ride! This is from experience with a fellow chapter member, who got laid up for life...the ins. crapped on him, so our chapter did some charity rides to pay off the difference he owed and what the ins. failed to pay...it literally was thousands...sad thing
We have State Farm, wifes neice is our agent so I think $ are fair. Having been in the Body Shop business for awhile companies that people bragged about getting a great deal with were a real PIA when it came time for a claim wont mention any names but as the saying goes "you get what you pay for".
Another issue with MC's is that you dont have a grace period.....You can buy a car on Sunday and call your agent on Monday and you were covered, not with MC's I was told that I wasnt covered until I called.
