Default Cable kit

Hey i was wondering if anyone knows of a good cable kit that isn't too long when installed, a couple of years ago i put on some 14" bars and used la choppers mini ape kit and they were still a little long for my liking. I have now installed some 16" bars that are wider and the cables still fit but are just a bit too tight. I don't want to order the la choppers kit for the 15"-17" bars and have them way too long. So i thought i would ask what everyone is using before i order them. I have tried to get descriptions of the kits to see what length cables they use but cannot find any

Measure your current cables and order them individually 1-2" longer. I hate using 'kits' when we do handlebar jobs at the shop for the exact reason you mention. We typically mock up the bars and run dummy cables and take measurements to get exactly the length we want...

That's the way to do it! So many owners seem to be in a rush to get the bike done before breakfast, rather than doing a decent job!
