Dead harley
New to the harley world, but i bought a 2003 Dyna super glide, and i just started having an issue randomly. The bike barely turns over and before it does it puffs a little white smoke from the air filter. Basically itll start then spit and sputter then die. I keep trying to start it and it wont turn over. Then the battery will die. I took it out for a ride the other day, got it back to my garage and it idled by its self for a good couple minutes. I start to give it a little throttle and theres a huge lag. I do quarter throttle turns quickly and it finally died and wouldnt start back up. Carb was cleaned last year. I havent dug into it yet. But ive been researching and heres some of the possibilities it could be according to diagnosing it reading these threads. Could it be crank position sensor, bad voltage regulator, bad fuel, clogged fuel filter, maybe a cracked line somewhere? Im at a complete loss! Anyone have something similar happen

First things first, make sure your battery is fully charged. Never jump your bike from another vehicle when the other vehicle is running. Make sure your plugs are not fouled. Get yourself a service manual if you don't already have one. If it's a carbed bike that where to start next. Jets could be plugged or it could be all gummed up with bad gas. EFI'd bike then it could be CPS, or TPS. Basics are Fuel, Spark, and Air all put together at the right time.

I had similar issues on my sportster......bad battery....it puffed from the air filter, did not turn over.....the battery was not any good......but.......it was not charged fully...so buy a ctek charger and charge the sucker.....if that is not working you should change the battery.....also check the connectors on the battery.....are the screws tighten?
