Default front fork?

I'm trying to identify a set of forks. I only have the upper portion (no sliders) and I have to identify them somehow if I'm going to replace what's missing. I purchased a truck load of Harley stuff at a yard sale and I have no idea what most of it is. The forks of interest have no identification on them with the exception of a faint inscription towards the top which says "Forking by Frank". I took them to a dealer and they thought they might be old FX. I thought old FX or even Triumph. I'll give you the specs but note that I used a cloth tape. They are not very accurate. These are the tubes I need to identify to replace the lower sliders. From the bottom up. We start with a shaft coming out of the bottom approximately 173mm long and 12mm thick. The OD of the tube is 33mm. As we go up from the bottom 52mm we hit a groove. It's total length is 742mm to the end. 76cm if you go to the end of the nut on the end. I hope someone can make sense out of this. I really like these forks. Also does anyone know a site which breaks down the parts on an older Harley, tech diagram, especially the forks? It would help a great deal.
Thanks
Alan

Default RE: front fork?

You can find "forking by frank" at www.frankmain.qpg.com
The company name is Frank's maintenance and Engineering in IL. They make forks, and should be able to tell you what they made them for.
