I bought a set of 41 mm 6" over forks off ebay for an fxlr trike conversion using a 5 degree raked triple tree.
The fork tubes were 4 inches too long so I ordered 2000-2010 fork tubes from J&P. The dampers from the forks won't slide into the new tubes and the diameter at the bottom of the tube is too large for the bottoming cup. I'm thinking these forks must be the 1984-199x versions of forks. Does anyone know the differences between the 1984-1996 flt, flht, flhs 41mm forks, 1984-1999 fxwg, fxst, dyna wide glide and 2000-2010 41mm versions of fork tubes?
BTW, J&P were absolutely no help. they actually blew off my question and disconnected from the chat.
I have found that most Dealer --Parts people --are very good. Exspecially the older folks. Know there business well.
They can get you details you need.
Unless you buy,- exactly what you need by part numbe-, off E-bay, good luck.
