I used to use my throttle lock as a cruise control. It used to loosen up over time with vibration. But now its gotten to the point where something has worn out. I can turn the wheel all the way till it stops and the throttle wont lock anymore... Is there an adjustment internally or something that needs to be replaced to get it back?
There's a small curved friction shoe that sits on the end of the thumbscrew. It may have slipped out of place or fallen out of the throttle grip housing.

This whole thing can be replaced from eBay for about $15, and it's not difficult to replace, either. The new ones, though, the "shoe" that's circled, is actually a curved metal spring instead of a solid piece, so it will less likely "wear down" like the solid piece would. Of course, being metal, it might just "cut" a groove in the throttle sleeve, instead, though that could take years. Who knows? I got an aluminum arm to go on my star/cylinder throttle lock under the switch housing, like the one above, for about $20 or less, that makes it easy to engage/disengage it. Works pretty well for me, and for about $35 or less total, the price is better than a lot of others.
