Default Tip Over Info

Hi All,

I'm curious to know what type of damage is possible or most likely to occur due to a stationary tip over. If I bike fell over could it result in extensive damage? Thanks in advance.

Did you already tip it over or just pre-planning?

Wink

Well, if I was planning on tipping a bike over I would probably want to do the most damage possible. If I had already tipped it over, I would probably know the answer to my question. Neither of those apply, just doing some research for other reasons.

Depends on whether you have crash bars or not. If you have them it will just scrape up the lower park of the bars. No bars then you'll be looking at a much more damage, but mostly of the cosmetic kind. Oh and for the record my nickname is Tip Over in my local riding group as I've tipped the bike over a couple times.

pulled into murphy fuel station, i usually will not use the diesel isle but it was the only one open. pulled to the pump, turn the engine off and went to drop the jiffy stand when my foot went into a pile of spilled diesel, foot slipped and machine fell over on top of me. thankfully the dude next door came over and helped me.
damage: foot peg, clutch lever, turn light, grip and most important pride as a biker.
if this happens, take pictures and do not move the machine till the attendant comes, they will since you are blocking business. the company paid for it but not without hassle.

I've seen a gas tank dent from tipping over.

I thought the original post would have been complete with, "Asking for a friend."

Why don't you go find a local MC in your area. Ask them if you can tip a bike over for 'research'. Report back here how much damage was done (both physical and mental).

I usually generously tip for good service - never thought about what my tip over info should be?
