For the techs...Does a Harley dealer require a Harley certification from MMI for employment?

totally depends upon the dealer. does factory require it? nope. have plenty of friends that work the industry that do not. the dealership will encourage you to get hd cert's but that doesn't mean formal schooling, just passing hd testing for knowledge base. it does look good to have the sheep-skin, BUT, that doesn't necessarily mean you get a quality mechanic as : "there are mechanics and then there are mechanics".

Yeah, some people say to beg for a job sweeping floors and washing bikes and then work your way up to tech. Other people say that a Harley dealer will laugh in your face if you apply without a minimum of Harley certificate from MMI and you better have made A's all the way through the courses with no absence.
