I have been tossing around the idea of adding 10" apes to my Ultra Classic. I have been getting people saying different things; I have to get new cables, brakes lines and wire extensions and some say that I don't. Can anyone confirm one way or the other?
In my experience, if you ask a dealer a question you get a dealer answer. So no I have not.
You said you asked a bunch of people and got a bunch of different answers so rather than ask the dealer you'll ask a bunch of strangers on the Internet? I'll go first, yes you need longer cables, brake lines and wire extensions.

Ya know if you are going to be cross, then just move on. Yes asking a bunch of strangers who may or may not have experience and from there I can weed out the bullshit. Do you have experience in this year model bike and doing mods, personally? Or did you have someone do it for you?
I have the experience on this model as I did it myself.
I went with the Paul Yaffe 12' Monkey Bars...........PRE WIRED bars.
Many have said if you want 10" bars you'd be more happy with the 12's.........TRUE.
My arms are just below shoulder height and that is exactly where I wanted them..........thought the 10's would work.......after a while I figured I made the right choice.
As far as extensions for 10's..........some say you can re route the cables to fit...........I personally would go with longer ones......maybe 4"..........I believe my 12's are 6+.
YMMV
OH....and BTW.........get a ONE piece top clamp for the bars........makes it MUCH stronger...Yaffe makes one
And if it helps, I went 10" Yaffe's on my 10 ultra, and needed new clutch cable and brake hoses. I went +4.... Wiring I did not need but if I were to do it over, I would have extended them also to make routing the wires easier..... Keep in mind, some bars a 10" and some like yaffe 10" monkey bars are closer to 12".
