Default Battery chargers

If you need a special charger for a lithium battery why don't you have to get a special voltage regulator when you put a lithium battery in your bike ?

My understanding is that it will charge with the standard charging system but not as fully as it will with the correct charger.

I have a Antigravity 20 cell 600 CCA lithium ion battery on my old Softail and it works great and charges the battery.

But when I put it on the charger/tender I use a CTEK 56-926 lithium charger/maintainer. Even after a long ride it always takes a little more from the charger so I know there is extra capacity there.

Good question! I've had a lithium battery for a couple of years now and also bought the matching tender for it, just to be sure! The battery holds a full charge well for a long time, but I do occasionally top it up. I don't leave it plugged in all the time as I do my other bikes which still have ordinary batteries.
