I wouldnt want one the MOCO would produce. That said, I would buy one from one of the companies that made them in the past. Dont know if any still do or not though. S&S comes to mind but there were others.
What would be the point ? Was it faster or more reliable than the Evo, Twinkie or todays motors ? I don't think so ! I would rather have a bike that just keeps going !...b.
from aesthetics point of view, they did have an appeal. could they be modernized, well sure.
case in point, take the cooper/bessemer compressor. designed back in the 30>40's and it was a popular unit, by todays standards, obsolete but there are plenty still out there. they being 2 cycle have issues with emissions and fuel wise. but along came the computer, these are viable units even today. they not only meet standards for pollution, they also increased in power output.
although hd has changes style and materials, the older stuff is basically the same when it comes to basic functionality, duh, still old push rod and forked rods. would i buy one, nope, i would rather have an original, it would be like having a real 65 stang vs a china knock-off.
