That orphan 2008 Touring
I am looking to fit a seat to a 2008 FLHR. This is the orphan model year with the old style frame but the first year with the 6 gal gas tank.
This means the 2009+ seats won't fit the frame and the 6 gal tank apparently interferes with the earlier seat.
My question is what is it, exactly, that creates the interference with the earlier seats?
I am looking for information on what it might take to modify an earlier seat to file this orphan model year.

The pre 08 seats have the tab on the seat that fits into the slot on the frame. The 08 and later seats have the slot on the seat and the tab on the frame. Many 09 and later seats fit the 08 just fine.
