Default Changing oil type anf system flush

Hi there,

Quick question - so i decided to change from the normal Harley oil to the full synthetic one and would like to flush the system once just to get rid of the old one and also maybe clean it a bit.

So the question is should i do that by just removing the oil putting some generic synthetic one for 20 min engine running and then changing it again with the proper synthetic or should i go with the recommendation of diesel/oil mixture and flush it this way?

cheers

Change the oil and don't worry about it. If this is a concern, run the bike for 1-2000 miles and change again. I would not worry.

Don`t get crazy with this, change it at the normal interval, all you do by changing it early is waste your money.

Go ahead and change it, the little bit of oil that is left in there will mix with the new synthetic and won't hurt anything. This is common with a lot of people that change from one type of oil to another, nothing to be overly concerned about.

Whether it's economically or not, it can give you a piece mind.
Remove all oil from the engine via the oil drain plug. Remove the return line from the oil tank. Rotate the return line outwards and connect a hose to it , guide it in a bucket.
Start the engine, while the old engine will poor into the bucket , pore new oil in the oil tank. Keep doing this till the color of the oil exiting the hose in the bucket is as clear as the new oil.
