Default What is wrong with my jiffy stand?

Got myself a new (used) Harley, but the jiffy stand does not fall into the right place and making a mark under the primary case.
What should be the right angel between the long and the short arm? See link below for more info.

Looks right to me. As long as you can get your foot on it to put it down and your not dragging the stand on corners, your good to go.

What kind of shape is the rubber bumper on the stand, that is what should stop the stand from slapping the frame...

the rubberbumper does not reach the frame. The jiffy stand only stops at the primary case.

Then yours is different than on my FLHR. I just went out and kicked my stand up and the rubber bumper hits the frame rail , no contact with my primary case.??????

yes, and I believe my jiffy stand has the wrong angel between the short an the long arm, an therefore it hits the primary case instead of the frame.

I dont think there are bushing on this one originally. Either mye jiffy stand is bend, or there is something wrong bracket on the bike.

Only other thing I can think of is if the spring has been put back on incorrectly. Last time I took my stand off to clean I put the spring on wrong and the arm would not pull up tight to the frame. YouTube jiffy stand removal ( I think the Fix my Hog folks do the video ), pretty detailed explanation....

There's a few things that could be going on here.

I would start with a new rubber bump stop, see if that is worn. Next I would try a new jiffy stand arm to see if that one is bent in some fashion. The last thing I would check are engine/trans mounts. IF for some reason the engine has shifted due to bad mounts, maybe that is what is causing this interference.

Good luck, keep us posted.
