Anyone have trouble with the throttle on their Rushmore bikes? 2015 street glide often when riding the rpm hovers around 1800 - 2000. Last night while riding along rolled off the throttle and this started to happen. With bike in neutral at a light rpm still would not drop. Happens very sporadic and not sure where to look. Any help greatly appreciated, thanks
any CEL codes? The quick an easy thing to do first is get some electronic contact cleaner an clean the connector at the throttle body. Usually if there's a problem there's CEL codes
I have an 08 ultra with TBW that does it some times.I,m told it happens for two reasons, 1) when the temp sensor senses high temp the ecm will kick up the idle to move oil thru the engine faster to help cool it down. 2) I sometimes get in the habit of shutting her down before it idles down to an idle. If you do this several times in a row the ecm thinks this is the new idle speed. A simple idle reset takes care of it. Some say stop using the kill switch and shut her down with the ignition switch and this won't happen.
This sometimes happens when the purge valve cap falls off the intake. Check to see if yours is there.
If missing, replace & perform TB reset.
Reset the throttle by setting the run/stop switch to run, then cycling the ignition switch on for 10 seconds, then off for 10 seconds, three times, with no pressure on the throttle grip.

The 08s have the eitms, which cuts the rear cylinder when it gets hot, never had mine inverse the idle when it was too hot. Not saying it doesn't happen just that mine does the opposite, until I turned that crap off. Clean the plug behind the throttle body and put some dielectric grease in it, do the throttle reset like 1340 hog said and also check the wires in and around that plug...the wires can break from the strain of the bend. It may be the throttle position sensors are bad and then you have 2 options...replace the entire throttle body or find a used for sale and swap throttle position sensors.
