Recently bought this bike, assuming they have a daymaker (or maybe it's a knock off) for the headlight. I took off the cafe style wind shield fairing, and now it looks weird with this pole coming out of the headlight cover. Is that normal?
Also, the bolts won't go in all the way by just a few rotations, so the whole headlight assembly is loose. If I try to use my Allen key to push the bolts in further, it feels as if it's going to break.
Do I need to buy a new stock headlight assembly? Is this normal?

Can that pole be removed , if so , you could buy a chrome cap like one you would find in a plumbing store . Paint it black or whatever to match . Fasten it in place by using silicone or epoxy .
You could use some extra washers on the bolts that are loose as spacers to tighten up the headlight .
Thinking this might be a easy way of not having to spend $$$ getting it right .
Hey man has it. It's some nonstandard thing.. More probably due to the fairing than the headlight. Don't remember the exact thread pitch/diameter but it's pretty much a standard nut that fits the headlight, lock washer and a small OD flat washer. HD should be able to set you up if you don't have any clue about nuts and washers. You can buy a cover for the nut from HD also.
