Default Springer forks

Hi, I need to have the rear and rigid fork legs rechromed on my Springer forks, will I need to remove the silicone/rubber seals on the rear fork legs?
many thanks.

Yes you will. The acids and other chemicals involved in the plating process will eat away at the rubber.

Cheers for taking the time out to reply, I had a feeling that would be the case.
I assume HD don't sell replacement seals, so what would you recommend?
