While cleaning my 74 Superglide fuel tank, this came out of the inside. Anyone know what it is?

An aftermarket gizmo to absorb water from the fuel and to stabilize it also? YD

I don’t know. The outer part is plastic and the interior metal appears to be zinc. It rattles when you shake it. I thought maybe it was just something that made noise when fuel got low.

Likely some sort of cheap trinket that is supposed to give you better mileage and catalyze your fuel. I wouldn't want it in my tank.

Can’t remember the brand name, but when I worked part time in the parts dept at Harley we sold those. It was a fuel treatment/octane booster gizmo.
