Default Headlight Visor

Picked up headlight and passing light visors today for my 17 Heritage Classic and can't get the headlight visor to fit. I got the replacement trim rings for the passing lights, but the headlight visor is supposed to work with the original trim ring. The part number is 67791-91T and no matter what it leaves a huge gap starting about halfway down when the trim ring is back on. Has anyone else installed this visor and what is the magic trick to make it fit?

Not to be a smart ***, but if you use the search feature here in the forum and search for visor gap, trim ring gap, headlamp gap, or the like, you will find many posts discussing it. There might be a few suggestions within to mitigate or negate the gap.

All the threads I found before I asked have been for one piece visor/trim combo. I'm trying to install visor only with original trim ring. According to HD it fits, but I'm having no luck.

I have the visors you have pictured on my 2009 FLHTCU ( plain visor, no gold wings ) and it went right on ... No problems, no gaps

If the gap is between the trim ring and the headlight bucket then look at it closely, you may need to remove the bolt and snap it all the way on. I had to hold the trim ring and pull each side over the ridge on the bucket. With the visor in place. Kinda a 3 or 4 hand job. Hope this helps.

I'll give it another try when I get home this weekend. Seems like either the top fits, or the bottom fits, but not both at the same time. May have to phone a friend for extra hands to see if we can get everything aligned with the planets. If that doesn't work, then all three visors go back to the dealer. If they can install it, I'll pay for their time and admit defeat. But right now I see no way there is enough clearance for the visor to fit inside the trim ring and not leave a gap without getting violent and tearing **** up.
