2003FXDX Starting/Running
I have a 2003 FXDX with 59,xxx miles with screaming eagle pipes with no baffles, Mikuni HSR42 Carb and Taylor 8mm spark plug wires with autolite plugs gap to .040. Bike is having troubles starting and when it does start it backfires really bad with a rough IDLE and rough riding with bad acceleration . At the times it does not want to start it will turn over like it wants to with backfiring but then will never get to the firing stage and completely turn over. I cleaned out the gas, cleaned the carb, put in new plugs and wires ( went from NGK gapped at .038 and screaming eagle 10mm wires). Started it up and all was fine for two starts and a 45min ride. Shut the bike off let it sit for the night and same thing started all over again in the morning. ANY help will be greatly appreciated!!!
