Default Engine Vibration?

Hello, all.

I have a 2019 Heritage that just received two new Michelin Commander III tires (just passed through 9000 miles). Drove off the dealership lot and immediately knew something was different so I suspected new tires, different tread, etc. But after I got home (20 minute ride), I knew something was very different and not good. After several riding scenarios and experimentation, this is the problem: between 30 and 50 mph (not necessarily RPM related), there is a definite vibration that is cycling up and down about once a second and does not seem to vary a significant amount in repetition between those speeds (does that make sense?). In other words, the wheels are rotating many more times per second that the vibration cycles and the cycle is about once a second. Most notable if the clutch is engaged at 45 mph and just coast down to 30 mph.

I took it back to the dealership and a mechanic confirmed the issue. It is in the shop now but after 4 days of bad weather (no additional test drive) no answer as to what it could be.

Thought the forum would have some ideas?

Thanks.

Bad tire or out of balance sounds like to me.

OR....... drive belt will cause issues if not adjusted right. A few have taken delivery of new softies and had a wierd vibration. Belt was too tight.

Thanks - yes, good thought - but the belt has been checked and adjusted by Harley shop. No change.

Did you get this issue resolved? Just had the same tires mounted on my 2024 and have the same issue?
Thanks.

Interesting indeed. I had the same experience a few years back and removed the Commanders - got credit and reinstalled the Dunlap. Issue solved. I am a Michellin fan but the Commanders were a flop for me. Just my 5 cents worth.
