Exclamation Engine Bolts

I'm pretty new to Harley Davidsons having juts purchased a 2018 Sportster 883 Iron. Its only done 600 miles but almost every bolt is showing some signs of white powdery corrosion. Is there a standard stainless steel bolt kit available so I can replace them all or do you have to buy them individually?

Go to www.colonymachine.com and download their 2019 ctalog. They sell complete kits. Except for some ebay stuff they don't sell direct to the pubic, so you will need to go through a dealer of some type.

If you've exposed the bike to road salt, you can expect the bolts to show corrosion very quickly. Fact is the new zinc coatings used today, while better for worker health and the environment, don't protect like the toxic cadmium platings of yore.

You can spray them with CRC, WD40 or penetrating oil, and then wipe the corrosion off. That's also a good thing to do before putting the bike up for storage.

That may be a good idea in theory, but in reality the “tech” area is where threads are sent to die.

Hi there UG, I wondered abt it as well. Did an unscientific study on the matter and came up with just the opposite my friend, but, but, it does take a little longer to get replies but the replies are really GOOD.

The quick replies seem to be good at time for sure but many HDFers just taking a stab at things with less accuracy of a GOOD reply.

If u have a little patience (sometimes u do not need to wait long at all) the replies tend to be REALLY GOOD. IMHO
