Default Dreaded P1511 error code

I ride a 2008 Electra Glide and had to deal with the dreaded Twist Grip Sensor issue. I got the P2127 code and had to deal with the limp mode and all that crap. I had the Twist Grip Sensor replaced and all was fine for a whle, then I started getting P1511 error code. I narrowed this down to the 6 Pin Plug behind the air cleaner. I pulled this plug off, cleaned it, used dialectic grease and still got this stupid code. After spending hours online, reading different forums, I stumbled across a forum where a guy mentions using Stabilant 22. I have never heard of this, but this is some super Connector Enhancer. It is supposed to improve electrical connections 10 fold. This crap is very expensive, over $100 for a small bottle. Anyhow, i ended up finding a close knock off, Deoxit Contact Enhancer. I paid $25.00 for this. After fighting this P1511 for a cpl weeks I decided to give this a try. I be damned, i worked. Problem Solved. I thought this was worth sharing, because I know this issue pops up quite a bit. If you are fighting these stupid *** codes, this may be worth trying. It worked for me and probalby saved me hundres as I was ready to take my bike to the shop!! Good luck ! Ride Hard - Ride Free!

Yeah that Stabilant 22 is amazing stuff. I was a helicopter mechanic (retired now) and used that on every connector, especially the Auto Pilot system. Thanks for the heads up on the Deoxit Contact Enhancer, I'll check it out. Should be good enough for the Harley.

When I had my 08, I used to pull the plug and slide back in and out to scrape the pins. Finally, I replaced the pins and put the boot on the plug that is OE on the 14 and later bikes.

I used "GB OX-GARD" from Home Depot, years ago, never had a problem since. Apply sparingly, it conducts and could short the pins.
