Default Performance Machine Air Filter Mod

This ended up working well for me, so I thought I would share.

I wanted to externally vent my crankcase, instead of on the inside of this Performance Machine air filter.

I ended up using my drill press and slide vise to machine a couple new channels in the backing plate.
I then reversed the two rubber ducks (the crankcase vent ducts) right to left, and installed them sticking out the rear of the backing plate.
I made a bracket for support and connected these to hose running to an external catch can with vent.
I also made a temporary 'rain cover' for the AC, which shows in the pics. Just did a 4k road trip and all worked perfectly!

I like the way you modded the backing plate to get the hoses out. I suspect that your trap may be too small tho. I find after many miles, the filter on top collects the oil and it blows back on the bike. It's better to simply run a hose down and away from the rear tire.

So far, so good. It is about half full after 4k miles, and no oil in the filter part. So it will just get emptied every oil change.

Yeah I suppose some of it has to do with the size of the motor, how hard you run it and how often you clean it..

True! I had a Jims 131 that would have filled it up quickly! As I age it changes from 'how fast I get there' to 'how far I go'!!!!!!
