I had Mean City Cycles do their rebuild on my Mustang seat when it needed to be rebuilt or replaced. Unfortunately, Mustang no longer offered the same seat or I would have just bought another one. They also told me that they (Mustang) didn't offer any kind of "re-build" service, so I went looking for someone to do it. Mean City Cycles has a good reputation so I sent the Mustang seat to them. Their service was exactly as promised. You get an appointment date to have it there and they do the work and turn it around immediately.
As far as the finished product...it's fine. Not awesome, certainly not an improvement over the Mustang when it was new...but it's fine. If I really searched around and found someone else doing great rebuilds...I might send it to them and let'em try to replicate the Original Mustang...which was a great seat.
05sportie, I had the seat rebuilt with the double memory foam. Call Allen, the owner and talk with him. He can offer suggestions on what you are looking for. The first seat he did for me was on a 09 Ultra, and I just sent the seat for my 20 Heritage to be rebuilt. I'm not sure how other seats ride, but I have enjoyed many hours on the seat of my Ultra, and look forward to many on my new Heritage. Good luck, and ride safe!
