PV temperature settings
I have a 2006 Heritage Classic with PV. Some years ago I set the head and engine temperature settings to 228.2 and 199, respectively, to alert me when they reached those numbers. The numbers on the PV turn red when those temperatures are reached. This past weekend, it was 73 degrees in So. Cal, so I took a short ride up to Oak Glen to grab me some apple juice. Oak Glen is at about 2400 ft. elevation. As was beginning the climb, the PV head temperature reached 228.2 and turned red. As I climbed higher, the temperature was cooler, at about 71 degrees, but the 228.2 did not come down or shut off. On my return back about half an hour letter, the head reading remained red and did not go up or down, even though it was in the low 70s. I do not remember if there was a specific reason why at set the PV engine and head parameters to those numbers. I am now wondering if I need to reset them. is 228.2 too low or high for the head temperature? What should I set those parameters at?

Not sure if it's set too low but my Evo Motor hits 315-320 for cylinder temps and my twinkie has no problem to 270 which I believe is considered low for a Twinkie... I'm sure come summer time it'll hit 300*...
The setpoint is the alarm, "numbers turn red", It doesn't control the engine temps
You are not going to see your head temps go down when ambient temperature drops a few degrees

If you have your alarm set to go off at 228°F, which is all that PV setting is, it'll be going off constantly. Once it reaches that temp, and it will rather quickly, I doubt it will ever turn off til it's shut down for awhile.
My 103 regularly hits 300°F.
228° sounds more like oil temp and is even a little low for that. Mine is generally in the 230s.

What is there to like or not like? Sorry if I forgot to send you hugs and kisses!!! Is it because I asked from input from someone with the same bike so we could compare apples to apples? I think I would rather hear from them than from you cry babies.
