I just had to replace the inner main bearing on my 95 Electra glide classic,I disconnected the starter to clean it and now when I connect everything and try to connect the wires to the battery terminals they want to melt. Does anyone have any idea of what the problem could be?
the starter main post has the positive, negative and fuse wire. The bolt that connects the starter to the inner cover has the ground wire and the pig ear wires(not sure what they are) connect to the clip on starter
A Positive wire and a Negative wire connected to the starter main post?
The blue circle has the positive and negative battery wires and a wire routed to the 12v40a fuse. The yellow circle has the ground wire thats connected to the frame. And the clip has the wiring to the switch.
