If it’s a bigger hotel I try to leave it in front under the carport awning, or in front of the room in a mom and pop kinda place. I’ve added the siren to the security system and the pager which alerts me as well. Even if they grab it and go, it’s gonna make a ton of noise for awhile in their truck or trailer. Noise is good. I lock the fork, use a disc lock and cover it with a nondescript Cover. The cover also helps with the dew in the morning. Starting the day on a dry bike is always better lol. I get a kick out of guys who put all this security **** and locks on and then cover it with a big branded HD cover. If they don’t know what’s under there they might pass it by.
So far I’ve been lucky, ive spent a lot of nights on the road no no trouble yet.
Mostly I make sure my insurance is good - let’s all remember what happened to Larry Weaver in Sickeston, Missouri before we go rushing out in the night. Google it if your not familiar with the story. It’s just not worth your life.

Lock the forks, lock the bags. Insured and use your cell phone.

@Firenailer , I was going to mention Larry as well.

if you're worried lock the rear disc but don't forget to hang a long tag on it so you don't forget about it , a pro will still get it. Talked to a guy ran into a store 5 minutes it was gone a woman was sitting in a car next to it said that a van pulled up put a cable around it put down 2 boards and dragged it in was gone in a minute . She said thought he broke down and his friends came for it .

Locking up your Harley safely when staying at a hotel can be tricky, but there are some solid ways to make sure your ride stays safe. I've been using a disc lock with an alarm feature; it's a simple way to deter thieves. Just be sure to get a good one and check the reviews. Another tip is to park your bike near the hotel's entrance or in well-lit areas where there's a lot of foot traffic. If you're traveling to places like Perth, don't forget to scope out biker-friendly accommodations. Some hotels offer secure parking spots specifically for motorcycles. It's always a good idea to ask ahead. While you're there, check out local hangouts and restaurants perth where bikers gather.

It's a messed up world though when criminals have more rights than you do. If you end up shooting them, you end up in jail because they are only stealing your property. RIP Larry Weaver

You worry to much. Many bike thief's are inside jobs. The most stolen bikes are not Harley. Even fewer are stolen at motels.

When I parked it, I locked the bags and tour pack, locked the forks, and put a cover on it. I don't do cover for security, I do it to keep the bike from being drenched with dew in the morning.

I tried one of those damned cover alarms...HD sells the pieces of ****. Don't waste your money. First time I pulled it out to use it, the pin came out and the alarm turned on. I put the pin back in place and the alarm would not go off. There's no way to turn the alarm off. I'm in a hotel parking lot, the damn thing is screaming and whistling.

To the ground it went.....where I stomped the life out of it. Looked up at my wife and said...hmmm....guess that's how you turn that off.
I used this in with a clip hooked up to the cover concealed a bit. If someone steals it and my trailer I have insurance and a credit card . Depends on the area… I try not to stay in sketchy areas.

I used to worry about locking my bike up at public places until one day Momma asked, "don't you have maximum insurance?" I replied well yeah...
Then Momma asked " don't you have all the chrome and extras insured separately?" To which I answered well yeah.....
Momma then asked me "Don't you want a new bike?" To which I gave the only true answer, well yeah...
To which Momma asked "Well then, what's the problem?"

My wife is pretty smart sometimes.....

I too have recently wondered what the best lock down option is. I see the big chain at the Harley shop and I did a Amazon search for "motorcycle lock" and see many large chain locks that look to be made similar to the Harley lock at less cost but just not sure and wonder about build quality. However, I would use the chain at home in the garage, don't think I would want that big chain eating up space in a bag...
I'll watch this post for suggestions as I most likely will buy a chain lock of some sort for when the bike is home but also need a travel lock like you, at the Hotel.
