Need Help with 103 running lean
I bought my bike last August. I always rode with a full face helmet. One day, I decided to ride without a helmet. And upon accelerating, I heard pinging in my engine.
After doing some research, I took it to the dealer and asked them to take a look at my fuel system. They said I had low fuel pressure, and so they completely replaced my fuel pump assembly, covered under warranty.
I rode it home and noticed the severe pinging was gone. But now I hear something else. It's like a very mild pinging, but doesn't happen every time I accelerate. And it isn't a bunch of pinging coupled together, it sounds like 1 piece of gravel hitting the fender, then its done.
Also, I noticed the bike seems to miss while under steady throttle at low rpms (2000-3000), along with jerking/surging.
I rode my dad's 2007 Night Train, and it has none of these problems. Smooth throttle, very responsive, but it also seems to jerk a little under very slight throttle. Is this just a normal occurrence?
I pulled my plugs and the round part is completely white, and the electrode is a mix of gray and black.
I have a 103 engine, cobra short swept streetsweepers, screaming eagle heavy breather, and vance and hines FP3 tuner.
I tried spraying brake cleaner around all my parts under the tank, like the MAP sensor and intake areas. No change in rpms.
Lastly, when I turn the bike off, the air breather makes a loud sucking noise. Is this normal as well?
Sorry for the long post, I just want to make sure my bike doesn't **** the bed, especially when it may have been something that I could have fixed.
Thanks
The sucking sound when shutting the engine off is normal with a low restriction air cleaner.
first one is front cylinder.
Thanks, I never thought of that. Ill give them a call on Monday when they open.

Chugging is another story and some modify gearing to help.
Mine don't ping and it's same as yours.
