Default PJ-1 Equivalent

I'm doing a SE compensator swap and the instructions specify using a 'PJ-1 or Equivalent' to clean the inside of the primary cover. The 'Oil Rib Installation Kit' for the oil deflector that has to be glued inside the primary needs a clean surface to stick to. I already hit it with brake cleaner and some Gunk degreaser.

None of my local PJ-1 dealers have the product that I'm guessing is the one they are suggesting. The 'Super Cleaner.' They have contact cleaner, etc.

What would be the 'equivalent' to the PJ-1 'Super Cleaner'? I'm guessing it is important to not leave behind the residue that Gunk may leave behind that the alcohol cleaning step might not be able to get off.

I just don't want this oil rib thing coming off inside my primary and causing me any issue down the road.

Thanks!

The website for PJ-1 lists your local dealers. I called 2. I didn't notice there were 3 locally and that 3rd one had it in stock.

Thanks anyway!

Any brake cleaner will work. I prefer starting with mineral spirits and ending with denatured alcohol.. Lacquer thinner would probably work also. Use a small brush to work the solvents in and dry with compressed air.

All of our techs call PJ-1 brake cleaner and when we haven't been able to get it, we use brake cleaner as a substitute.

PJ1 is a brand name. They make a ton of stuff, paint, fork oil, chain lube, gear oil, various cleaners.
