Default Problems..need help!!

Ok guys I’m working on my 2004 Roadking. For the past year it has been hard starting and has had a rougher than normal idle. The bike has 26000 miles on it and everything is stock except for the exhaust and a tuner. The tuner is an older model(around 12 years old). This year I have replaced the entire charging system because the compensator nut came loose and trashed the magnet. I also changed all the fluids and the plugs. It keeps throwing 2 codes P0621 and P1356. I plan on changing the cam tensioners, oil pump and the cam support this winter. When I say hard starts, it acts like the battery has little charge but tests at 12v and charges at 14v. I’ve load tested the battery and all is good. If I push the bike back and forth before starting while in gear it seems to start better. Recently the starter has been banging off of the ring gear on some starts. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance

Are you sure it's the starter clutch banging and not the compensator itself? How old is the battery? Start with the free stuff...battery cable connections should cleaned and make sure they're tight at both ends. Since you have a manual primary chain tensioner check that as well...otherwise it might be time to pull the primary cover and take a look. Is the rough idle something that started suddenly or has it been a gradual progression? What tuner are you using? I know more questions than actual answers but hopefully one of the many great and much more knowledgeable people here will be by to help...

If you didn't trim 0.060" off the bottom of the nut, your "banging" may be a torn out rotor.
