Yeah you need to get your ducks in a row. The number you list is what is cast into the manifold. The kit number is 29635-99. It is not setup for a cv40 but for a cv44. At one time there was special rubbers to allow the use of a CV40 or HSR 42 (really the same spigot size). So you have a HSR45 not 42.

Update: My carb guy at Killer Carbs fixed me up with a Harley-Davidson seal that fits my Screaming Eagle manifold and 40 mm CV carb. It arrived today and I installed it. It works well and no leaks. It was an easy fix and I did not end up having to replace the manifold.
Well guys, I spoke too soon. Mea culpa. All is not well. I am getting a slight coughing from the carburetor when I rev the motor to between 1500 to about 2000 rpm (in the garage-have not tried it on the road). Most likely it could be a vacuum leak, but I checked the mounting of the spigot carefully, and it seems to fit tightly. I will try to spray WD-40 or carb cleaner at the spigot to see if it reveals anything. I did not get any reaction, either increase or decrease of rpms when turning the mixture screw (CVP EZ-screw) in or out. I started at 2 1/2 turns out, and have continued to turn it out slowly, and I am now to probably 3 1/2 turns out, but only getting a very miniscule increase in rpm, and no stumble. I also started at 2 1/2 turns out and turned in past that, but it also had no effect. No increase or decrease in rpms. I installed the carburetor with the 50 pilot and 200 main jets it came with, but took off the clip on the needle which was on the 4th rung down. Most likely it is a vacuum leak, but if not, what else could it be?

pgreer was correct when he said that the choke cable for the Mikuni and the CV are different. I was using the old cable from my Mikuni on the CV. I ordered a new cable, specifically made for the CV. Upon close inspection, I saw that the CV cable has a small step in the piston, where the Mikuni cable does not. Once I installed the new cable, my bike reacted immediately. It appears that using the Mikuni cable on my CV carb was causing a vacuum leak, which caused it to run rough when cold. All is good now.
A bicycle has two main sets of wheels; one set, attached to the front fork, provides propulsion and braking; another set (at the rear), driven by pedals mounted on hubs attached to side-frame members, provides thrust. The drivetrain conveys rotational power from outlying push rims (hands) onto both sets of rotating substantial wheels. Ample torque results from this communication chain are directly related only to force exerted by hands contacting levers mounted near pivoting points where push rim meets the wheel.

Screamin Eagle manifold part #'s 29635-99 (TC 88) and 29636-99 (Evo 1340) use carb grommet # 29639-99 for 44 CV and 45 Mukuni. Grommet # 27642-00 for 40 CV and 42 Mikuni.
