Unhappy Help. Stripped torx bolt

I'm in need of some help. Trying to remove the passengers foot peg assembly and stripped the torx bolt. I'm putting on some saddle bag guards and need to remove the assembly to put them on. I do have a new foot peg assembly so I'm thinking of cutting the original off. I tried using an extractor but the bolt pretty much just laughed at me. This bolt is in there. Any help is very much appreciated.

They’re in with red loctite generally, try putting the heat to it to break the loctite free when you use an extractor or whatever you are going to use. A Hand impact works well (prior to stripping the head of course)

Yea, heat it up. It will break the red loctite up

Quite often if you are wanting to reuse parts, once stripped like that, just drill it the bolt size and pop off head. Then you can heat stud and it will screw right out with vice grips.

I use an impact on them. Bolts are trash but they come out. Got to be real careful if there is dirt caked oil down there.

Floor board bolts are a real pain.

Try an electric soldering iron, less chance of collateral damage compared to a MAP gas torch.

If you an get a grinder in there, grind the head off. Once the floorboard is off, a pipe wrench works great to grip what's left and screw it out.

if someone has used locktite, especially red, you will have better results using some heat.

To disassemble fastener held with red Loctite requires it to be heated to 250°C or 482°F. If you can keep the heat in a soldering iron tip it will exceed that.

In the past I have heated a rod until redhot and then held it on the screw.

This. They make electronic do-hickies made for this, but a soldering iron works great. I wouldn't use a map torch on my bike.

Thank you all for the help. I drilled out the bolt a little, used a soldering iron (not MAP gas) to heat it up, then used the extractor and some elbow grease and maybe a cheater bar. Came out just fine. Of course the saddle bag guards I was putting on don't fit but hey at least I can still enjoy the beautiful weekend we are going to have here in NE Kansas on my bike.
