Looking for a good pump to fit in my saddle bag. Not sure if I should go with wired or battery. Some have tire gauges which I don't know how accurate they are.
I have Ride On in both tires which I would hope would prevent tire failure. I guess a little extra precaution wouldn't hurt. I was just thinking that the tire would loose some air from the puncture and having a pump to bring it back up to specs would be a good thing to have. I rarely ride more than a 100 mi from ground support and have 2 different road side insurance options
I'm with jeffro , have a small slime that has done me well , used it 3 times in the past 4 years , all on other bikes . I have a small plug kit as well , good enough to get you home or to a shop to have it replaced . Yes , I'm one of those " replace the tire after you pick something up " guys .
I also have a valve extension that I picked up at the dealer , makes it much easier to fill the tire , especially on my 28 spoke rims .
Dan ... it's much easier if the tire has some air in it ;>
I did put air in the tire when I tried to install the plug, but it was like trying to push the plug into a tire without a hole in it...
I`m going to hang on to that tire and wheel and use it a training device, I won`t be happy until I am confident that I can plug a flat tire while it is still installed on the bike.
I`ll post a pic of the tire with 1,000 plugs in it...
Oh, and to answer the OP`s question:
I have a compact compressor in my saddlebag (Slime brand).
