I have a calculator that allows me to decode the 17 digit VINs that are currently used (web based), but does anyone know of one for the old VINs like the ones used on the Shovelhead? Even a chart would be helpful.

Not so easy with them HD had a mismatched way of doing things. Even now experts will argue over numbers on Shovels. Until HD standardize it you had to do a lot of home work . Then make sure the stamps were real.
