Default Another Question About LED Turn Signal Lights

Here's the problem. I have bought 2 sets of the round 3 1/4 inch LED turn signals. Both for the front turn signals. The problem is the out side edge of the turn signal housing is 3 1/4 inch. When I put the LED light on the fiberglass board was sitting at the same size as the housing. The turn signal lens cover would not fit over the board.
The size that would fit perfect would be a 3 inch diameter LED light. Where do you find those? I know this doesn't make sense but the best way I can explain it.
I even took one of the LED lights and used a Dremel tool to cut it down some. But I hit a wire in the board and screwed it up. The next set I bought was the the metal ones and they fit but are to thick to fit in and put the lens cover on

This is the one/s with the fiberglass board. This is how it fit. As you can see the board fits right up to the edge of the turn signal housing.
As you can see the way this fits the lens cover will not fit. This is the one I trimmed down with the Dremel tool.

This is the second one I ordered. It is so thick that when I do put the lens cover on it pushed tight against the plug the light fits in and caused the light not to work. This one is 66 millimeter which is 2.59 inches. As you can see they are thick. I like these because they are really bright. They are just to thick. Even with the cut out for the bulb housing. And that thickness is all aluminum metal.

Now I am wondering if I can cut that notch out that is suppose to hold the light bulb housing? That thick piece is all aluminum metal.

I ordered LED turn signals for the rear turn signals and they fit perfect. And they are 3 1/4 inches in diameter. Why can't I get front 1157 LED turn signals that will fit?

Have you tried Custom Dynamics? I have the bullet type on my Street Glide and they fit well. I think CD would have some to fit yours?

I've looked at Custom Dynamics. They are nice. With a nice price. I was going through ebay and amazon to save me some money. I picked up a pair of the 1156 disc LED's off of Amazon for the rear turn signals red only. They fit great with no issues, and they are 3 1/4 inch diameter.
The front turn signals will not fit a 3 1/4 inch diameter. I even checked to see if the ones on the front were aftermarket. Stamped on the inside they are stamped HD.

I spent some time searching amazon this morning. Found a few that were 3 inch diameter. Wish me luck

Ya know back in the day when computers had come out and when the World Wide Web was dial up. It was so much easier to find a part for a Shevelhead Look up the part in the BIG Custom Chrome book and go to the cycle shop, point at the picture and grunt Then it was hold your breath hoping the guy behind the counter says if it fits or not.

You get what you pay for. I’ve never had an issue with the fit or quality of anything I’ve bought from Custom Dynamics.
