Good morning everyone! I'm new to the site and love the advice, pics and things I've learned thus far. I recently purchased an 07 superglide and find myself not really liking the stock bars. I bought a set of drag bars that have an 8in riser. My question is will I have to replace my cables or will my stock ones work? Thank you for any help or input in advance!! Photo is of stock bars on the bike.
8 in risers or 8 inches of rise in the bars? I like 99% of the other people here will tell you to base your bars and cables on what you want not what you can get away with. If you're 100% certain you found your particular set of bars do the right thing and get the right associated parts. You wouldn't change your oil and keep the same filter on.
Sorry, I believe they are 8 total inches of rise with 4" coming back toward me they are 1 solid piece. I'll try and post a picture of them when I get home later. I get what you're saying about getting the right parts. Thank you for your reply.
You will need longer cables and lines. The general rule is you can move roughly 2" up and or back from the stock location and reuse the stock stuff, any more than that generally needs longer cables and lines. You will probably need longer wiring as well...

Don't bring it to a dealer. They'll charge you an extra 350 and then you'll hate each other. Please add to my cross thread point total. I think im only 20 points away from an official hdforums.com toaster.

Bring it to the dealer. everything will work when you pick it up with no issues = no aggravation. Money well spent
And we wont be reading yet another post " I swapped my handlebars and (insert noun) wont work. What do I do now?"
