Choke knobs

I was wondering about changing the choke knobs on my bikes, one with a Mikuni HSR 45 and one with a CV. How do you get the choke knob off the Mikuni? and how do you get the choke knob off the CV? I've read some of them are made to the cable and you have to cut them off if you want to use a custom knob of some sort? Thanks guys.

As I recall, both ***** are the same. They are plastic and they screw in the same. They use about a 5/16 in. wrench. They both have a tiny copper end that goes in the hole at the end of the cable. I had a Mikuni 45 and changed it out for a 40 mm CV, but only used a CV cable for the CV.
