Default Fork reflector removal

Would like to remove the reflectors on my 2017. Does the fork have a protective coating that I need to be careful not to remove while lifting the reflector off

Should be held on with a 3M type adhesive tape. A little heat from a hair dryer and it should come right off. Don't use anything metal to pry with. Plastic only.

I use a heat gun (keep moving the heat gun back and forth) and then a piece of 40lbs monofilament fishing line. I cleaned the remaining adhesive with kerosene.

My question had to do with a protective coating on the fork which I was concerned might be taken off during the removal process

As long as you use a 'monofilament' line you'll be fine. Don't use a 'braided' fishing line.

It will come right off.. just use heat gun. Mine actually came off clear and I didn't have to work much on the tape thing.
