Thumbs down 10 street glide won't run

Useful help appreciated. 10 street glide 96". Riding down the highway and it died. Never had a issue with this bike. anyway, flashed the computer and there are zero codes. Pulled the plugs and they look fine. checked spark on a head bolt and it was there. Had to have fuel because when I did this it was barking flames out of the head through the plug hole. Turns over fine and it occasionally pops but won't start. Threw a crank trigger at it and nothing different. So what gives? If it won't run why won't the ECM give me a code? My next thought is it has fuel but maybe not enough? Thought maybe test fuel pressure but the tester I have don't fit the QD on the tank. But again if it was a fuel pressure issue shouldn't it give a code? weather is great and i need to ride so lend me your thoughts please.

Thanks,

I believe low fuel pressure won't throw a code , spray a little starter fluid into the TB and see if it fires , if it does , then I would pull the fuel pump and inspect the filter , regulator and hoses , one of them is probably giving you your issue .

I'm guessing the fuel pump primes when ignition is turned on , fuel filter should be changed out at 25K , could be a pinhole / holes in your fuel hose or a cracked / faulty regulator .

Welcome to the forum , good luck , hope you find your issue .

Yes the pump runs when the ignition is turned on. I had similar thinking to yours with the fuel pressure. I appreciate the response. Ride on and safe!

Confirmed, it is the pump or filter as it ran on spray. Being I have to pull the tank apart, I may replace the pump and filter as well as anything else I find. if anyone has a pump they have used that performs better than a HD part, I'd appreciate the suggestion. Thanks MyFavRk for confirming my suspicion and keeping me from overthinking things!

Keep in mind , if your pump is priming every time you turn on the ignition , it should be good , inspect it for corrosion / cracks / wear , mine was till mint . Since you'll be going into the tank , the 3 main components I would change are the fuel filter , fuel regulator and hose . You should be good to go after that .

Good luck , keep us posted .

Replaces filter, regulator, hose, and filter screen. Put it together and it fired right up. Went for a 40 mile ride with no issue last night. Today I get done with work and decide to go for a long haul. 2 miles down the road it sputters and dies. Check the codes and it comes up both 02 sensors lean. Clear that and fire it back up to see if the same codes come back. Then the code changes to idle sensor. So I dig into that and the only sensor on the throttle body is a map sensor. Time to change that. Hopefully that is what set off the 02 code to lean. Fire it up without air cleaner and it flashes fire in the throttle body when it misses. Hoping this fried the map sensor. Bike won't idle but seems fine at higher rpm

Buy a fuel pressure gauge.

Any chance that single fuel line under tank is not seated well.
By not seating well the fuel line connection moves and blocks flow of fuel.
No fuel/low fuel and bike shuts down.
If someone has disconnected and reconnected that hose a few times then perhaps that might be a possible problem source.
I would not buy parts and replace parts without confirmation of performance of old parts.
Reason: A new part might be defective or the installation of the new part could be incorrect and that just adds more variables to a problem.
Plus it gets expensive.
On some units a simple test of pushing UP on hose connection under the tank will cause things to line up and for fuel to flow.
Then you address the O-ring on that connection.
