Thanks that's another option I'll check out. While I know they say the carrier/lift will not in a 5.5' bed, a bunch hangs off the back. I also have hauled the bike around in different fashions, Hydralift on the back of a DP motorhome, 5th wheel toy hauler. The lift on the back is hard on a nice bike but you don't lose any interior floor space. The TH keeps the bike clean and safe but you lose 10+ feet of living space. The pickup carrier will still expose the bike to the elements but not as severely as the back lift.
I had a hydralift on my diesel pusher, and also had a toy hauler 5th wheel with a 14' garage, used to carry two bikes at times. Now we have a conventional 5th wheel. I bought a Blue Ox device that looks a lot like a Swivelwheel but I'm going to sell it. When we're touring in the 5th wheel I'm not making time for riding the bike, and I bought a ramp for my 8 foot bed pickup in case the wife wants to go on a long trip to good roads with me. The way it's working out, I've just been riding the bike on the long trips.

That carrier is a 3 point attachment isn't it? I thought about that type carrier but want a toad with me. Right now I tow a Jeep Gladiator, definitely too small, and a Ram 1500, marginally acceptable for the type lift/carrier I'm talking about. Both have class III receivers.
This one has 2 attachment points. Not an option for what you're wanting to do, obviously. It seems when I was shopping for Rampage style systems I watched a video of one of the companies which showed the lift sticking out of a short bed. It seemed like it would work just fine, When I put my Heritage in my 8 foot bed I thought I was going to have to leave the tailgate open but I made it with about a half an inch to spare, with the Condor wheel chock hard up against the front.
The local HD dealer had a Rampage in their warehouse they bought several years ago and only used a couple times. It has some slight modifications, outriggers for a mounting, and is missing a couple bolts and pins. No paperwork either but that's available online from a couple sources. I'll be mounting it in the Ram 1500 and if that works well won't upgrade to a 2500. I took it apart today, made a list of need pieces, and will do the install in a week or so. Maybe mid November take a weeks RV trip to a good riding location like N Arkansas or MO.
