I just bought a new Road Glide Limited and I'm doing stage one now myself, is there any certain amount of miles that's recommended to put on a bike before you go stage 2 and put a torque cam in? I was considering having it done when I took it in for my thousand Mile service.
For warranty purposes I'll stay Harley for now, two years from now we'll see how I like it.
Man, do yourself a favor, don't switch to aftermarket, then. It is that much better, and you will wish you had not wasted 2 years. This engine is so great with one of the popular bolt in torque cams, and a Powervision dyno tune. It is a completely different animal, and can only be believed when you experience it.
Well. From the letter I got from Harley they cannot void your warranty any longer. The Gubberment came down on them for denying warranty claims and voiding warranties when nothing the person did had anything to do with a failure. Or future failures. Look into it then don’t spend the money on the TQ cam. Go aftermarket.
I get them not being able to void the warranty, that's actually been the law since the 70's..........BUT..........I had an issue with Kawasaki on a mower engine, they make great engines but they don't stand behind them. They denied my claim and blamed it on aftermarket parts. they were wrong, and they didn't have to prove they are right, it was on me to prove they were wrong. What's that take?....lawyers and courts which = money and they have more of it than me. Harley does too. I was happy with my Harley torque cam on my other bike and I'm sure I'll like it on this one too.

Not exactly. When the 17s came out the EPA hit Harley hard. And then they voided any powertrain warranty if their software sniffed out an aftermarket tuner. And that was that. Some people had their **** voided because of only removing the Cat. No MM act was fixing it. But now the federal trade commission just stepped in and said they over stepped their reach as far as the warranties went. So now they cannot just blanket void you. Just because.
And if the MM act is your defense to go aftermarket. Than just go aftermarket anyway.
