General Topics/Tech TipsDiscussion on break in periods, rider comfort, seats and pad suggestions. Tech tips as they become available will be posted here.
I suffer from weakness in my left arm and hand as well as missing the fifth digit on my clutch hand. My 2000FLSTC has and unusually stiff clutch, perhaps a result of the big bore put on the bike when new. It is really a problem in traffic so living in NYC can be troubling.
Just found this EZ Pull kit that claims 30% less effort needed to disengage the clutch. It is supposed to have ball bearings in the clutch lever perch.
Has anyone installed this accessory on their Softail. Just looking for comments on whether this seems to be possible.
Thanks for your replies
UPDATE: I stumbled across and old post about EZ Pull claiming the finding neutral is a problem as well as clutch slippage. My clutch works perfectly as it is. Maybe I will work on getting the hand stronger
I can't help you much.... but have you considered making a call to Baker Transmission? They may have a product or suggestions to help out.
Thanks Spartenden that's a direction I never considered but definitely worth a call. First I am going to take as much friction out of the pull as possible. Remove clutch lever, clean and polish the clutch shaft pin diameter and the perch inside diameter, then lube the cable and points of friction. Cant make it worse! If all fails I will ask Baker for and ideas
I put them on my 15 Ultra limited and thought they made a significant difference especially in Rally traffic. The owner is a down to earth guy, give him a call.

Thanks for the input County. I just ordered a set in black. I thought it was funny when the sales girl said she only has the three finger model......"perfect I have three fingers
The clutch ramp was improved for lighter pull around 05. That part/kit is still available from HD. The cable may be creating some of the problem if it's several years old and especially if it's never or seldom been lubed. Both items are fairly inexpensive and should be done together.
There are other non HD east pull clutch ramps kits.
