I love problems. They make life so wonderful
I have the instructions for changing the PIN. And the instructions I have are the same as what the owners manual says.
But I follow the instructions and about the best I get is the hazards coming on.
Starting with number 2 states
2) With an assigned FOB present, turn IGN key ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON
3) Press left turn signal switch 3 times
4) Press RIGHT turn signal switch one time and release *Turn signals will flash 3 times. Current PIN will appear in the odometer. The first digit will be flashing
And that is as far as I get. The current PIN does not appear. What did happen was the hazards came on.
I tried this several times with the same result. The odometer showing the miles and no old PIN
Yes I have a FOB. And yes it works. I can put the FOB in my bedroom on the dresser go the garage and
try starting the bike and the turn signals flash with with no juice to the start switch.
Any ideas?
Memorize the steps so you can perform them in rapid succession. Any hesitation between steps will usually result in failure.

Well apparently I had my head up my *** yesterday when I was trying to reset the PIN on the bike
LOOK I just turned 62 in January and I think I have earned the right to have my head up my *** every
now and then LOL But I am finding out that when you start getting older the head up the *** syndrome
becomes for frequent.
Just changed the PIN in the bike
Now this is something I don't understand. I am the 3rd owner of this bike. It is a 2009 Electra Glide Ultra Classic
It still had the original Harley PIN of 31313. MAN why wouldn't you want to change something like that.
That's like kinda sorta on the important factor. One of those I gotta do this things.
Thank Ya'll's for the help I really appreciate it
So, what did you do right today that you didn't do right yesterday? Hesitation between steps like barneyboy mentioned? Just curious......... You don't have to snitch yourself off if you don't want to, lol.....

Just a guess. He said the hazards came on. That would indicate both switches were pressed at the same time which is a no no.
Hell I don't know. The first time I tried it about 3 times and the odometer didn't change didn't do anything.
Then I thought maybe I'm not doing the sequence right. And that's when the hazards came on LOL
With me third time and no go is I struck out and put it up and think on it a while
Yesterday I went out with the new PIN written down, instructions in hand and did what the instructions said.
I'll be damned it worked. I even went pack after I set the new PIN and followed the instruction 2 more times
and it worked. New PIN is set
The first time when something happened it might have been to much hesitation. But to me I didn't think I hesitated.
Things still freak me out on this 09 Electra Glide and I've had it for 2 years. The last time I rode before this bike was a 72 Shovelhead
and that was 22 years ago. This Electra Glide has goofy **** like a check engine light and ABS brakes LOL
I turn the switch on, push the juice button and the check engine light comes on ABS is on LOL
BTW I don't mind rattin myself out. It's good for a laugh LOL When you can laugh at yourself and say damn
you ****ed up didn't ya, means that life is going to be fun and maybe a little easier.
I've learned dealing with life issues are always going to be there. Deal with the issues, look back on them,
and give them a laugh after they have passed.
When I went from what I call a manual bike to electronic and the dealer was pointing out the radio, idiot lights, etc. I asked him where the air conditioning was? he smiled and said it was in my right hand!

Same with transport mode. If you are not spot each step it does no work.
At 62 , yes you earned the "head up ***" syndrome. I'll let you in on a FYI, there's more. It gets worse not better from here.
Glad you sorted this one out. Regards, from another oldster.
